Paul Austin Hudson was born to Earl Austin and Florence (McKim) Hudson on January 7, 1918 in Brooklyn, New York. His early years were spent in Brooklyn, then in Morristown, New Jersey. He graduated from Morristown High School and attended Rutgers University where he was a member of the Queensman Band. He played trumpet throughout his college career and his life.He joined the AT&T Company in 1940 following in the footsteps of his father and grandfather. He married Virginia Eilert in 1940. They travelled together for the first two years of their marriage with Paul's job installing and testing cable in the entire eastern seaboard area. He was exempted from military service during the Second World War for his skills in vital industry.Paul and Virginia settled in Red Bank, New Jersey after the birth of their daughter, Judy.They later moved to Shrewsbury, New Jersey where Paul continued to pursue his hobbies as an amateur movie projectionist, musician and golfer. After retiring from AT&T he was able to pursue a career in movie theater management. He and Virginia loved to travel and spent many happy days in their RV touring the United States and visiting their grandchildren.They moved to Midland in 1993 and enjoyed retirement and more time with their family.Paul is pre-deceased by his parents, his beloved wife, and his brother, Robert M. Hudson. He is survived by his daughter, Judy Morris and son-in-law, Will of Midland, grandchildren: Deidre Mitchell and husband Mark of Frisco, TX, Megan Morris of Austin, TX, and Brendan Morris and wife Christine of Dallas, TX and four great- grandchildren: Sean and Ryan Mitchell of Frisco and Wright and Spencer Morris of Dallas. Also left to cherish his memory are his caregivers Charlotte Merchant and Sharon Jackson. The family would like to express gratitude to Hospice of Midland as well.In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of Midland; St. Nicholas' Episcopal Church; or the music program at Midland College.A memorial service will be held at St. Nicholas' Church on July 20 at 10:30 AM.
