Patsy met Gerald Stockstill while attending Abilene Christian College. They married in Bayard, NM on May 4, 1957. They started their life together in Ft. Worth, Texas. After a brief time there, Gerald became a minister. Together they built a life serving small congregations throughout southwest New Mexico and Arizona. As a ministers wife, she hosted many gatherings in her home. Together with Gerald, they orchestrated many youth activities, Vacation Bible Schools, and Bible Clubs for children. She taught people about Jesus from cradle to the end of life. Patsy lived on mission. Her mission was teaching others about her Lord. She met people where they were and helped them grow in a relationship with Him.
Patsy loved her family. The only thing that exceeded her love for her family was her love for her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She had many hobbies. Chances are if you knew her, you would have one of the paintings she did. She won ribbons in art shows for her work and sold several items in craft shows. She also loved to decorate cakes, do quilling art, make jewelry, scrimshaw art, macrame, broomstick crochet, and flower arranging. She loved the arts.
Not only did she reach people locally, but Patsy and Gerald spent 10 summers working in Eastern Europe and Russia teaching others about Jesus Christ. When someone would bring up their travels, she would always work in their time in Europe. She not only talked about the beautiful things they had seen and experienced, but also the relationships they had and the people they brought into relationship with Jesus Christ.
