Patsy Ann Henry, former resident of our community, peacefully passed away on December 3, 2023, at the age of 94 in Conroe, Texas. Graveside services celebrating Patsy’s remarkable life will be held 2:00pm Friday, December 8, 2023 at Trinity Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Thursday, December 7, 2023 from 6pm until 8pm at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.
Patsy was born October 19, 1929, in Haskell, Texas to parents Nelia Ione (McDaniel) and John Homer Tompkins, she left an indelible mark on the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her.
Patsy’s journey began in the small town of Haskell, Texas, where she was raised with love and care. Patsy displayed a strong work ethic and a determination to succeed. She pursued her education with college credit, seizing every opportunity to expand her knowledge. Though she did not obtain a degree, Patsy’s thirst for knowledge never wavered. Her tenacity and lifelong love for learning were qualities that defined her.
As a property manager, Patsy found her calling. She devoted herself to managing and caring for various properties, ensuring the comfort and satisfaction of those who entrusted their homes and businesses to her. Her attention to detail, reliability, and warm demeanor made her not only an exceptional professional but also a trusted friend to many.
Patsy’s impact on her community reached far beyond her professional pursuits. She was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church of the Woodlands and was involved in the Hospital Auxiliary in Odessa, Texas. She possessed an unwavering spirit of compassion and kindness, always offering a helping hand to those in need. Whether it was lending a listening ear, offering sage advice, or gathering resources for those facing difficulties, she touched the lives of many with her generosity. Patsy’s legacy of selflessness and empathy will continue to inspire us.
Away from work, Patsy cherished spending time with her loved ones. Family was at the heart of her universe, and she reveled in creating lasting memories with them. Whether it was gathering around the dinner table, sharing stories and laughter, or embarking on joyful adventures, Patsy cherished every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, and extended family.
Patsy Ann Henry will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her children, grandchildren, and all those who had the privilege of knowing her. Her loving memories will carry on, firmly imprinted in our hearts.
Patsy is survived by her son Kim Henry and family, granddaughter Leslie Henry and family, niece Jana Preston and family, Troy Tompkins and family, and her longest and closet family friend/sister, Sally Engelking and family. She is also survived by countless friends from The Woodlands, Odessa and the West Texas Area.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Don Henry, son Mike Lee Henry, sisters Jocile Tompkins Kittenger and Doris Ortiz, and brother Charles Tompkins.
While we mourn the loss of Patsy Ann Henry, let us also celebrate her legacy of love, compassion, and resilience. May her soul find peace, and may we find strength in the memories she left behind.
