Pat James, 95, of Big Spring, died on Sunday, April 13, 2003, in a local nursing home. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, April 19, 2003, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Gene Collins, minister of Odessa South Church of Christ, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park. He was born on April 8, 1908 in Montgomery County, Texas and married Wilma Brown on April 8, 1961 in Odessa, Texas. Pat retired from Texas Electric in 1974 after twenty-three years of service. He volunteered at the Senior Citizens Center and loved to shoot his slingshot. He was a member of Cedar Ridge Church of Christ and had preached and taught Bible classes for the Churches of Christ in West Texas. Survivors include his wife, Wilma James of Big Spring; six daughters, Patsy Brown and husband, Clarence, of Big Spring, Creovis Brown and husband, Dan, of Fort Worth, Eva James of Orlando, Florida, Iola Monroe of Bryan and Lenora Francis and Devora Dobson both of Boston, Massachusetts; two sons, Billy James and wife, Marie, of Carson, California and Jimmy James and wife, Mary, of Abilene; a sister, Maggie Reed of Abilene; a sister-in-law, Idella James of Abilene; a daughter-in-law, Connie James; 35 grandchildren; 70 great grandchildren; 30 great great grandchildren and numerous other relatives. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Ruby James; two sons, Charles James and Lee James; his parents; four brothers and one sister.
