Pamela Allen Ausmus, of Midland, Texas, passed away on March 10, 2023 so peacefully into the arms of our Lord and finally back into the arms of her son, Christopher Thomas Bearden, who she has missed so dearly for the past 26 years. A Celebration of Life for Pam will be held March 16, 2023 at 5:30 at the The Branch of Nalley Pickle and Welch with Rev. Jan Reed officiating. Dinner to follow.
Pam was born on January 3, 1950 in Selma, California to A.J. Allen and LaVerne Vannoy Allen. They made their way home to Midland in 1954. Pam was blessed with two siblings, Mike and Belinda. The Allen’s were long time members of Crestview Baptist Church. Pam was baptized at Crestview when she was 8 years old. Pam carried her unrelenting faith in the Lord throughout her life.
Pam graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 1969 and went on to study at Odessa Jr. College then at Houston Baptist Jr. College until the birth of her first child, Christine. Pam returned to Midland and was soon blessed with her second child, her precious son, Christopher. She said she “wanted to be a physical therapist but motherhood finally won over”.
Pam had over 30 years of administrative support experience. She began her career in 1984 at ClayDesta Corporation. In 1993 she went to work for Ortloff Engineers as an Engineering Technician/Project Secretary until her retirement in 2020 after a long and successful career. She loved going to work every day but most importantly she loves the people with whom she worked.
Pam married Larry Dean Ausmus on November 21,1998. They shared such a loving and tender marriage each and every day. She loved their furbabies deeply.
Pam was an avid seamstress, quilter, and embroider with a keen eye for color and perfection. She also smocked, did needlepoint & could play the piano so elegantly. Pam was quite the tennis player back in the day, known to win many tournaments. She loved to just go out and play tennis with the ladies for fun but was secretly quite competitive.
But her greatest love of all was her family. She wanted nothing more than to be near her children and grandchildren. She was a Mother, a Granny who every child dreams of having. A Mother-in-law who every Son-in Law prays for being blessed with. A sister, an aunt, a friend – she was perfectly golden. Her smiles, her giggles, her hugs were contagious. Her tender “I love you” kisses were like butterflies. She is simply irreplaceable.
Pam is survived by her loving husband Larry Ausmus. Her loving daughter Christine Beebe and husband Richard, grandchildren Evalyn and Dylan Beebe. Brother Mike Allen and Sally of La Jara, Colorado. Sister Belinda Newton and husband Michael of Abilene, Texas. Sister-in-Law Kim Doolan of Milford, New Hampshire. Numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.
Pam was preceded in death by her parents A.J. And LaVerne Allen, and her precious son Christopher Thomas Bearden.
