Orville Marcus GraueOrville Marcus Graue, 87, of Midland, Texas passed away peacefully at home with his family at his side on February 13, 2008.He was born October 27, 1920 to Arnold and Emma Graue in Windom, Minnesota. He graduated from high school in Windom, MN in 1938. He went on to serve four years in the Army Air Force as an Aerial Engineer. He returned to Windom to farm with his father and brother.Orville met Ruth Piper from Lakefield, MN and they were married at the Methodist Church in Lakefield. They celebrated 25 years of marriage together and had four daughters, Jeannine, Jann and Jill (twins) and Jade Graue. He was preceded in death by Ruth Piper Graue.On March 5, 1977, Orville married Ione Winter from Jackson, Minnesota. Orville welcomed his fifth daughter, Neta Winter Gohr, and son-in-law, Kenneth Gohr, into his family.Orville farmed for over 40 years with his brother, Vernon, in Jackson County, Delafield Township. He was a county assessor for area townships in Jackson County. After retiring from farming, he worked at Jackson's Deputy Registers Office. He was an active board member of Windom Cenex Cooperative, the Masons, Disabled Veterans, VFW of Lakefield, MN and American Legion of Jackson, MN. Orville and Ione RV'd for 10 years before they settled in Midland, Texas.Orville was preceded in death by his father and mother, two brothers Kenneth and Vernon, one sister Arlette Graue Vaughan and two brothers-in-law, Artuie Vaughan and Darrel Piper.Orville is survived by his loving wife Ione, of 30 plus years of Midland, Texas; daughters, Neta Winter Gohr and her husband Ken of Midland, TX, Jeannine Graue Deters and her husband Dennis of Sioux Falls, SD, Jann Graue Schmidt and her husband Terry of Clear Lake, MN, Jill Graue Wotzka and her husband Richard of Willmar, NM and Jade Graue Bastin and her husband John of Trenton, Ohio.Orville was blessed with thirteen grandchildren: Neil Gohr and wife Traci of Hobbs, NM, Nanci Castillo and husband Jose of Fayetteville, NC, Kristine Curtis and husband Rod of Midland, TX, Kevin Gohr and wife Ami of Midland, TX, Shawnda Bosch and husband Curt of Sioux Falls, SD, Nicole Paasch and husband Jamie of Sioux Falls, SD, Reece Deters and wife Halie of Sioux Falls, SD, Arianne Wotzka of Minneapolis, MN, Anthony Wotzka of Minneapolis, MN, Troy Schmidt and wife Cindy of St. Cloud, MN, Dylan Lueth and Tyler Lueth, both of the Twin City area, and Amber Lueth of Trenton, Ohio. Orville was blessed with 21 great grandchildren: Marissa, Raianna, Melanie, Summer, Danielle, Mackenzie, Madison, Kason, Keaton, Morgan, Mason, Aaron, Hannah, Jennifer, Melissa, Katlynn, Emma, Isabel, Christopher, Luke, Brianna and two great-great grandchildren Kilan and Morgan, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and one brother-in-law, Burnell Bacon and wife Glennis of Tucson, Arizona; two sisters-in-law, Beverly Graue of Windom, MN and Annette Piper of Minneapolis, MN.Celebration of Life Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, February 16, 2008 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 3309 Neely Ave., Midland, TX 79707.Officiating pastor will be K.C. Blackketter. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials are sent to Home Hospice, 901 W Missouri, Midland, TX 79701.
