Opal Faye Patterson Spivey, 94, of Big Spring, died Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Thursday, October 6, 2016 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Rev. Elwin Collom officiating. Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Friday, October 7, 2015 at Terral Cemetery, Terral, Oklahoma.She was born March 7, 1922 in Jefferson County, Oklahoma and married Haskell Colwell \Hack\ Spivey July 17, 1942 in Oklahoma. He preceded her in death January 15, 2001.Opal worked as Dr. Floyd Mays' nurse for 22 years at Medical Arts Hospital. She moved to Terral, Oklahoma in 1975 after retiring and returned to Big Spring in 2005.Survivors include three children, Lois Hammond and husband, Tommy of Tuscaloosa , Alabama, Jerold Spivey and wife, Judi, and Diana Bailey all of Big Spring; 9 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren.She was also preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Kenneth Thomas Spivey; a son-in-law, Jimmy Bailey; and seven brothers and sisters.The family would like to say \Thank you\ to the Home Hospice staff, Jessica, Debbie, Cathey, Debbra, Linda, Margie, Jennie, Brenda, Emily and Jana for the excellent care they provided to Opal..The family request memorials be made to the Hillcrest Baptist Church Building Fund, 2000 W.
