Opal Charlene Waldrop, 86, of Midland, passed away on Thursday, July 29, 2004, in a local nursing home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, August 2, 2004 at the Church of God in Midland with Rev. M.R. Thomason, officiating. A visitation will be held on Sunday, August 1, 2004 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at Nalley-Picke & Welch Funeral Home.She was born on January 9, 1918, in Dequeen, Arkansas and married Houston Milton Waldrop on January 8, 1934 in Dequeen, Arkansas. He preceded her in death on November 27, 1972.She was faithful in reading her Bible and was very involved in her church. She liked gardening, cooking and loved her family. Our beloved mother, grandmother, and friend will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She was a member of The Church of God.Survivors include two sons, Roy Wayne Waldrop of Leavenworth, Washington; daughter and son in law, Hazel Beth & Everett Delph of Midland; son, Walter Lee Waldrop of Houston, daughter & son-in-law, Patsy Ruth & Jim Morgan of Midland and thirteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her son, Joe Price Waldrop, one daughter, Carolyn Ann Boyer, two grandsons and two granddaughters.
