Omer "O.W." Decker, 82, of Big Spring, died on Friday, July 13, 2007, in a local hospital. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, July 16, 2007 at the Peace Chapel at Trinity Memorial Park with Rev. John McCullough, pastor of Central Baptist Church, officiating.The family will receive friends from 4:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home.He was born on July 24, 1924, in Cisco, Texas to Filmore and Dora "Mamie" Decker. O.W. served as a corporal in the United States Army 437th Troop Carrier Group in the European Theater during World War II. He worked for civil service as an aircraft mechanic at Webb Air Force Base for 36 years before retiring in 1979. He was an avid golfer, and loved to play dominos and dance. He was a member of Airport Baptist Church, but had attended Trinity Baptist Church.Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Cynthia and John McCullough of Big Spring, and Tracy and Jay Hodges of Bonham; one son, Paul Gene Decker of Dallas; six grandchildren, Joel, Julie, Holly, Amanda, Crystal and Laura; five great grandchildren; and a special friend, Norma Perkins. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Carolyn Abel on July 24, 1991 and an infant daughter, Omenda Lea Decker, and nine brothers and sisters.Arrangements under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring.
