Oma Herm, 84, of Ackerly, died on Sunday, September 25, 2005, in a local nursing home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, September 29, 2005 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Rev. Delmar Thomason, pastor of First United Methodist Church of Ackerly, officiating. He will be assisted by Eric Herm, grandson. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.The family will receive friends Wednesday from 8:00 PM – 9:00 PM at the funeral home.She was born on August 15, 1921, in Loraine, Texas and married Edgar Herm on December 10, 1940 in Lorraine, Texas. He preceded her in death on March 16, 2005.Oma graduated from Loraine High School and moved to Ackerly in 1949. She was a homemaker and she and her late husband farmed for many years.She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Ackerly where she served as treasurer for many years.Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Eddy and Don Nell Herm of Ackerly and Steve and Teresa Herm of Stanton; one daughter and son-in-law, Kay and Mike Hall of Stanton; two sisters, Blanche Pendergrass of Temple City, California and Nola Taylor of Loraine; eight grandchildren, Ronnie Wallace of Seminole, Kenneth Wallace of Grapevine, Melinda Doege of Crane, Eric Herm of Big Spring, Michelle Zant of Ackerly, Deanna Belew of Big Spring, Laura Jordan of Lubbock, and Kyle Herm of Houston; and twelve great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents John and Molly Richburg, eight brothers and five sisters. The family suggests memorials be made to the First United Methodist Church of Ackerly, P.O.
