Ollie M. Burns, 99, passed from this life and went to her heavenly home on December 4, 2008.Ollie was born in Little Elm, Texas on February 21, 1909 to J. M. and Ella Ballew. She married George Burns on May 11, 1929 in Big Spring, Texas. They farmed west of Ackerly for many years. He preceded her in death on March 9, 1989. She was also preceded by 7 siblings.Ollie was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Ackerly. She was a homemaker and took pride in her home. In her younger years she loved to travel. She always loved to visit with her family and friends. She loved flowers and was fascinated by hummingbirds.Survivors are one son, Wayne Burns and wife, Kay of Big Spring; two daughters, Dorothy Burrow and husband, Gene of Big Spring and Shirley Frazier and husband, Don of Tijeras, New Mexico; seven grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, December 8, 2008 at the Peace Chapel at Trinity Memorial Park with Derrick Looney, pastor of Forsan Baptist Church, officiating. The family will receive friends form 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home.Pallbearers will be Brent Burrow, Chris Burrow, Todd Frazier and Greg Frazier.
