O. D. Majors, 73, of Coahoma, died on Wednesday, July 3, 2002, at his residence. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Saturday, July 6, 2002, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Rev. Mark Winn, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Sand Springs, officiating. Interment will be at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, July 10, 2002, in the Coahoma Cemetery. He was born on May 29, 1929 in Erick, Oklahoma and married Delores Ray on October 6, 1951 in Clovis, New Mexico. O. D. had owned and operated the Big Spring Ambulance Service from September 1964 to June 1967. He was a reserve policeman with the Big Spring Police Department from 1965 to 1967, and was a reserve Lieutenant Deputy Sheriff in Gallup, New Mexico from 1975 to 1976. in 1979, he became the Chief of Police of Coahoma and served until 1984, when he went to work for the Howard County Sheriff Department as a deputy sheriff. He worked for the Colorado City Police Department from 1986 until 1990 and has been a reserve deputy with the Howard County Sheriff Department since 1992. He was involved in law enforcement for over 30 years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was a member of Westbrook Baptist Church and a member and past master of the Coahoma Masonic Lodge #992, A.F. & A.M.
