O.B. Orr of Midland, Texas passed away into the Lord's hands at 5:30pm on May 9, 2008 at age 79. Services will be at the First United Methodist Church of Midland, Texas at 3:00 pm on Saturday May 17th, 2008. A graveside ceremony will be held at Resthaven Memorial Park following the Church service and a dinner for family and friends will be held at the Church following the graveside ceremony. O. B. was born July 28, 1928 at his home in Big Lake, Texas. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and was decorated for his service to his country during his tour of duty in Korea.O.B. was happily married to Nona Lackey of Big Lake, Texas for 55 years following their marriage on February 3, 1953. He attended Texas Tech University for two years and later graduated from the University of Texas of the Permian Basin with a degree in Business Administration. He was a loyal employee and Manager of Lands for the University of Texas where he retired in 1994 and later became active in the oil and gas business.O.B. is survived by his wife Nona Lackey Orr, his three children Mitchell Mark Orr, Carrie Dee Orr, and James Berry Orr as well as four grandchildren Michael Shane Orr, Robert Eugene Orr, Shelby Elizabeth Orr and McKenna Lee Orr. He is also survived by his beloved dog, "Buddy".O.B. loved his family and was a strong, kind hearted, Christian father who served as an anchor for all. Everyone enjoyed his witty sense of humor, which made him a pleasure to be around. He loved animals of every kind and was an avid outdoorsman enjoying fishing, roping, hunting and golf. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Midland and its Partners Sunday School Class, Green Tree Country Club, the National Right-of Way Association, and was a 32nd degree Mason.Honorary pallbearers include all of his former University of Texas Lands Associates as well as his fellow golfers, the Midland Mall Gang, fishing and cowboy buddies. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in O. B.
