O. A. Davis, 90, of Big Spring, died Monday, November 12, 2012, at his daughters home in Lubbock. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, November 17, 2012 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Rick Cunningham, minister of 14th and Main Church of Christ, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Friday, November 16, 2012, at the funeral home.He was born April 29, 1922, in Brown County, Texas and married Wandalene Witty June 11, 1948 in Coleman, Texas. She preceded him in death September 9, 2008.He grew up in Brown County. He served in the United States Army during World War II. He came to Big Spring in 1950 and worked as a cook at the Veterans Administration Medical Center for 35 years.He was a member of 14th and Main Church of Christ.Survivors include two daughters, Joann Davis of Lubbock and Janet Hilbers and husband, Don of Idalou; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces & nephews.He was also preceded in death by his parents; one son, Glen Davis; one great-great-granddaughter, Shae Lynn Amore; and by seven brothers and sisters.The family suggests memorials be made to 14th and Main Church of Christ, 1401 Main St., Big Spring, Texas 79720.Arrangements under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring.
