Novis Faye Elizabeth Moore

Novis “Faye” Elizabeth Moore, of Midland, passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 in Lubbock, TX. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 6, 2015 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home in Midland. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at 2:00 PM at the First Assembly of God Church, Midland, Texas with Pastor Mike Hanks and Rev. Danny Williams officiating. Graveside services will be held at the Colorado City Cemetery, Colorado City, Texas on Monday, March 9, 2015 at 1:00 PM.  Faye was born on May 15, 1922 in Blackwell, Texas and passed away peacefully in Lubbock, Texas on Tuesday, March 3^rd after a wonderful life of 92 years.Faye’s parents were Marshall and Malissia Moore, longtime residents of Blackwell, Texas.  She was the youngest of nine siblings and was the last surviving child of their family. She loved them all dearly; Earnest, Hatton, Pete, Therman and H. A. (Shorty) Moore and her sisters, Martha Oden, Fannie Graham, Nora Viregge.Growing up on the Moore Ranch were some of the best times of her life. She loved riding her horse, Princess, and spending time on the ranch with her brothers, sisters and friends.  Her second love was playing basketball; she played all three years of high school and was captain of her team. She enjoyed school and the comradery she had with all of her classmates. She was voted Homecoming Queen and also served as President of Blackwell High School senior class of 1940. She married John Douglas Koon in Marshall, Texas on February 21, 1942.  She moved to Washington D.C. while her husband was serving in the United States Army and then back to Texas when he began his career with Shell Oil.  It was at this time that she began working in the Furniture business.  She loved working in sales and all the customers and friends she met along the way.  She retired in Odessa, Texas in 1986 and then moved to Midland in 1991 where she lived until 2012. She resided in Lubbock, Texas the last couple years of her life.Faye loved everyone she met, but none more than Jesus.  She spent all of her adult life serving God.  She loved every church she attended throughout all the different places she lived. Upon every move the first order of business was to find a church home. Her last church home was First Assembly of God in Midland.  Oh how she loved all her brothers and sisters in Christ. She loved teaching Sunday School and loved her birthday group. Her greatest love was raising her children and spending time with them and her grandchildren, great grandchildren and her great-great grandchildren.Faye is survived by three daughters, Sharon Blythe (Michael) and Lana Koon of Lubbock, Texas and Janie Dyer (Tim) of Midland, Texas; five grandchildren, Amanda Tedford, Larry Frazier, Stacey Richardson and Allison Dyer Davis (John) and Jordan Dyer.  She is also survived by eight great grandchildren; Ashley Cypert (Randy), Trey Loyola (Michelle), Amber Carillo (Robert), Eric Frazier, Kimberly Benitez, and Lexi Blythe; also, Addison Davis and Crawford Davis, twelve great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.Faye leaves behind a legacy of friendship that spans generations.  She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory in Midland.
