Norma Louise Lassetter Green, 78, of Midland passed away on November 29, 2009 at the Mabee Younger Center. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Wednesday, December 2, 2009 at the funeral home. Interment will take place at 2:00 pm, Thursday, December 3, 2009 at Highland Memorial Cemetery in Stamford, TX. A memorial service will take place at 2:00 pm Friday, December 4, 2009 at the Manor Park Chapel with Rev. Kathryn Boren, officiating.Norma Green was born on October 25, 1931 in Brownwood, TX to Arnell and Novella Lassetter. She lived in Stamford, TX, graduating from Stamford High School, May 31, 1949. She attended both McMurry University and Hardin Simmons University, in Abilene, TX, graduating from Hardin Simmons University on June 1, 1953. Norma received a BS degree in business and secondary education with a minor in English. Upon graduation, she taught at Hardin Simmons University. She taught at Stamford High School from 1968 to 1972.Norma married her high school sweetheart, R.V. Hagle, May 16, 1952. R.V. was killed in action in the Korean War, August 8, 1952.Norma then moved to Midland, TX, where she spent her life raising her two daughters, Rebecca Speight and Debby Levitt. Norma worked for T.J. Brown (the DeChicchis Estate), Al Vogel and Tom Brown, Inc. (for 20 years). She was a member of B&PW (Business & Professional Women's Club) both in Stamford and Midland, TX. Norma was also a member of Desk & Derrick Club of Midland. Upon retirement, she enjoyed her family, especially her grandson, Christopher Speight and traveling. Norma was a member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church of Midland.Survivors include two daughters, Deborah Kay Levitt, wife of Barry Levitt of Houston, TX; Rebecca Speight, wife of Carl Speight of Midland, TX and one grandson, Christopher Speight of Denton, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents. Norma's family would like to thank the many friends, all Manor Park staff, both Younger Center and Vogel Center. Her life was fondly touched by all of her care givers who were so concerned and giving of their time during her illness. Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be directed to St. Luke's United Methodist Church Foundation; 3011 W.
