Allene Blocker, 89, of Stanton , died on Saturday, April 16, 2005, in a Stanton nursing home. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, April 18, 2005 at Evergreen Cemetery, Stanton, with Rev. Daniel Armstrong , pastor of First United Methodist Church officiating. Allene was born on June 21, 1916, in Taylor County, Texas to Clifton and Fannie Bickley and married Earl John Blocker on September 17, 1946 at State Line, Texas. He preceded in death on September 8, 1976. She worked as a butcher at the Five Mile Store and began working at the Dairy Treat in Stanton in 1954. She acquired ownership of the Dairy Treat in 1960 and operated the drive-through restaurant until it closed in May 2002. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Stanton.She will be remembered for her smile and the friendly greeting she gave to every customer that came to the window of the Dairy Treat. Those who knew her were blessed by her kindness and generosity. Survivors include: one son & daughter-in-law, Euel and Kathy Blocker of Stanton; three sisters, Glen Bickley Powell of Bastrop, Lousie Bickley Graves of McMinnville, Oregon, and Lavada Bickley Barnhill of Stanton; two brothers, Harrison Bickley of Stanton and Jimmy Bickley of Robert Lee; one grandson, Matthew Blocker and his fiancee, Summer Creech both of Midland, and one adopted grandson, Andy Walker and numerous nieces, nephews , counsins and great-nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one son Harvey John Blocker and a brother A. J.
