Nora Voltin, 97, of Midland, died on Monday, December 15, 2003, at a local nursing center. A funeral mass will be held at 3:30 pm Thursday, December 18, 2003 at the St. Ann's Catholic Church in Midland with Rev. Rodney White, officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery. A vigil service will be held on December 17, 2003 at 7:00 pm at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Chapel in Midland. She was born on July 22, 1906, in Rowena, Texas and married George Voltin on November 24, 1932 in Lott, TX. He preceded her in death in 1999. She was a member of the Providence Hospital Alumni, National Council of Catholic Women Officer, and St. Ann's Altar Society and was a Pink Lady in Mexia. She was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church. Nora was an R.N. and nursing instructor from 1924 to 1932 at Providence Hospital in Waco. Following her marriage in 1932, Nora became a lifelong homemaker, wife, and mother.Survivors include one daughter & son-in-law, Rosemary & Don Cox of Midland, three grandsons and their spouses, Mark & Marsha Cox of Holdenville, Oklahoma, Paul & Barbara Cox of Carrollton, John & Melynda Cox of Graham; four great grandchildren, Kyle Cox of Carrollton, Justin Cox of Holdenville, Oklahoma, Wyatt Cox and Catelynn Cox both of Graham; four sisters-in-law, Helen Hoelscher of Rosebud, Edith Hoelscher of Houston, Mary Ann Boyer of Dallas, Minnie Pieper of Waco; and brother-in-law, Ben Voltin of Rosebud, Texas. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Sophie Hoelscher, and Regina Hoelscher, Rosalie Freberg; and two brothers, Florence Hoelscher and Clarence Hoelscher.
