Nora Johnson of Big Spring, Texas died Saturay, March 21, 2009 at her home, surrounded by her family. She was 95 years old.Mrs. Johnson was born June 26, 1913 in Hamlin, Texas to Mr. and Mrs. Otto F. Welch. She married Oliver "Curley" Johnson on December 25, 1933. They owned and operated Curley's Photography Studio.Their prayers were answered in 1946 when they adopted a beautiful 9 month old baby girl. They made their home in Big Spring.She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister and brother; and her spouse of 71 years.She is survived by her daughter, Gloria "Dee De" Phillips and husband, Stanley of Big Spring; two granddaughters, Nora Gamble and husband, Clay of Coahoma and Rachele Lebeda and husband, Brian of Keyes, Oklahoma; a great-grandson, Hunter Williams of Coahoma; three great-granddaughters, Morgan, Keilee and Jadyn Lebeda all of Keyes, Oklahoma; and one nephew, Danny Welch of San Antonio.Mrs. Johnson's body was donated to Texas Tech Medical Science Center in hopes for future medical and scientific adavncements.
