Noble "Pud" Stewart, 85, of Midland, died on Saturday, September 9, 2006, at her daughter's residence. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, September 11, 2006 at the Golf Course Road Church of Christ with Ronnie White, minister, officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.The family will receive friends from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM Sunday at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory.Noble was born on February 14, 1921, in Tuscola, Texas and married Woodrow "Bud" Stewart on February 4, 1946 in Lamesa, Texas. He preceded her in death on March 6, 1977.She moved with her family to Martin County in 1931 and graduated from Courtney High School in 1939. She attended and graduated from Abilene Christian College in 1961. Noble taught school at Lamesa, Mt. Olive, Valley View, Grady and Midland Christian, retiring in 1982. She kept children in her home for 7 years with Joanna Lacy. Bud and Noble farmed and ranched in Martin County for over 30 years. She moved to Midland in 1978. She was a member of Golf Course Road Church of Christ. Survivors include one son, Buddy Stewart and wife, Karen of Greenwood; three daughters, Leila Kay Stewart of Greenwood, Lova Beth Lacy and husband, Dee of Midland, and Darilynn Jo Shaffer and husband, Pete of Arlington; one sister, Sibyl Randolph of Midland; eight grandchildren, Jim Bob Stewart and wife, Heather, Jessica McCrea and husband, Ross, Jonna Langford and husband, Asa, Melissa Zahn and husband, Jerod, Clint Lacy and wife, Marcy, Stephanie Shaffer, Amy Shaffer and Jeffrey Shaffer; six great grandchildren; one brother-in-law, Albert Stewart and wife, Sue of San Angelo and eight sisters-in-law, Leola Glaze Tabor of Lubbock, Jessie "Jack" Glaze of Tarzan, Helen Estes of Greenwood, Tennie Anderson of Alpine, Mabel Haskell of Dodge City, Kansas, Martha Wilkerson of Alpine, Jeanette Ramsey and husband, Bill of Alpine and Johnnie Thompson and husband, Harold of Greenwood. She was also preceded in death by her parents, John Thomas Glaze and Kara Lovine Swindle Glaze; one sister, Queen Victoria Taylor Brown and three brothers, J. T. Glaze, Carl Darrell Glaze and Joe Lee Glaze.The family suggests memorials be made to Midland Christian School, 2001 Culver, Midland, Texas 79705 or to Community & Senior Services, 3301 Sinclair, Midland, Texas 79707 or to Hospice of Midland, 911 W.
