Nicolasa Paredez Diaz, 96, of Big Spring, died on Sunday, February 22, 2009, in a Midland hospital. Rosary will be said at 7:00 PM, Monday, February 23, 2009 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM, Tuesday, February 24, 2009 at the St. Thomas Catholic Church with Father Ariel Lagunilla, officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olive Memorial Park.She was born on December 8, 1912, in Venencia, Durango, Mexico and married Emilio Diaz, Sr. in Big Spring. He preceded her in death on December 29, 1968.Mrs. Diaz was a longtime resident of Big Spring and a homemaker. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and a member of the Crucillistas.Survivors include three sons, Ambrosio Diaz of Odessa, Jose P. Diaz and Cruz Diaz, Sr. both of Big Spring; three daughters, Paula Franco and Maria Diaz both of Big Spring and Juanita Cuellar of Odessa; one sister, Juana Flores and one brother, Gregorio Paredez both of Big Spring, 39 grandchildren, 86 great grandchildren and 51 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Juanita and Martin Paredez; three brothers, and three sisters.
