Nell O'Neal Philley, 85, of Big Spring, died Saturday, September 29, 2012, in a local hospital. Graveside funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at Ochiltree Cemetery in Perryton, Texas with Rev. Ken McIntosh, officiating.The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Monday, October 1, 2012, at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.She was born to Bill and Lora Wilson September 1, 1927, in Ochiltree County, Texas and married W. H. Philley September 22, 1957 in Perryton, Texas. He preceded her in death January 17, 2006.O'Neal lived in Perryton for many years and worked for GTE for 28 years, retiring in 1977 as a district manager, which was the highest position held by a woman at that time. She was past president of the Business and Professional Women's Club in Perryton. She moved to Big Spring in 1999 from Madill, Oklahoma and was a volunteer at Scenic Mountain Medical Center for six years. O'Neal loved playing games and being around friends.She was a member of First Christian Church in Big Spring.Survivors include one son, Bill Philley and wife, Berta of Perryton; one daughter, Ruth Leubner and husband, John of Big Spring; a daughter-in-Law, Judy Philley of Duncan, Oklahoma; six granddaughters, Amy Wilkinson and husband, Brian of Duncan, Oklahoma, Amber Schickedanz and husband, Jason of Perryton, Teri Billings and husband, Chris of Duncan, Oklahoma, Somer Gaskins and husband, Dustin of Knott, Bree Philley of Perryton and Catherine Dunn and husband, Kirby of Plainview; 14 great-grandchildren; one brother, Bob Wilson and wife, Evelyn of Austin; and many nieces & nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one son, George David Philley; and one sister, Lynn Ewing.The family suggests memorials be made to the donor's favorite charity.Arrangements under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring.
