Nelda Jones Sandefer, 82, of Midland passed away on Monday, October 22, 2018. The family will receive guests from 6:00-8:00pm, Friday, October 26, 2018 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.Nelda Faye Jones Sandefer was born to parents Emmett Jones and Lucretia Lindsey Jones on June 6,1936 in Bledsoe Texas. She lived in Clovis, New Mexico attended Clovis High School and graduated from Morton High School in 1955. It was in Morton she met and married the love of her life Walter Sandefer on November 19,1955. They made their home in Morton, where she became a homemaker and mother to Monte, Venita, Duane and Barry.She was preceded in death by her father Emmitt, her mother Lucretia, younger sister Judy, and stepmother Connie Ealy Jones and daughters in law Julie Sandefer and Margie Sandefer.She is survived by her sons, Monte Sandefer, Duane Sandefer, wife Helen, Barry Sandefer, wife Cherry Scheible and her daughter Venita Wormsbacher all of Midland, grandsons; Brandon Sandefer, Cory Sandefer, wife Amanda and Joe Peppers, wife Cheryl, Great grandchildren; Damien Kahle, Madison Bryant, Mia Sandefer, JJ Peppers, Haylee Sandefer, Mackenzye Bayley and Madisyn Sandefer, sisters and brothers in law Twila & Bill Guthrie, Chris & Terry Sorgen, of Edmond, Oklahoma and Saundra & Joe Webber, of Brewton, Alabama. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and cousins throughout the United States.Nelda did work outside the home, as a grocery clerk, a school librarian at Morton Jr. High, a gas chart operator, security monitor and her last position was as a special needs school bus driver for the Midland Independent School District.She also served as a Senior Companion for the SeniorLinks program in Midland. She made many wonderful friends through the program.She was active in her church, Cotton Flat Baptist, she served on the business council, Ladies of Grace, and sang in the choir.Nelda was known for her love of gospel music, and other artists Elvis Presley, Waylon Jennings, Patsy Cline, The Ventures and Herb Alpert & the Tijuana Brass.If you wish to make donations, please send them to Cotton Flat Baptist,
