Danny HeacoxDanny Heacox passed away on Wednesday, December 16, 2009 surrounded by his loving family. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m., on Monday, December 21, 2009 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jeff Franklin officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.Danny was born April 11, 1923 in Linton, Indiana to Edwin and Fannie Harbison Heacox. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Faye, January 25, 2009, both parents, two brothers and thee sisters.He was raised and educated in Sikeston, Missouri. In 1935 Danny's father passed away leaving his widow with seven young children. Danny formed a strong work ethic helping support his Mother and younger siblings doing odd jobs including being a golf caddy which led to his love of the game of golf.Danny joined the United States Service in 1942, serving as a Merchant Marine.On September 3, 1949 he married Faye Baker. They lived in Sikeston, Missouri where they were blessed with the birth of their two daughters, Pat and Danna. In 1957 the family moved to Midland where Danny started in the construction business. During his self employment he was associated with G.H. Lawless, Tom Mallams, and Mid-Tex of Midland.Danny was honored for his service of 50 years as a Master Mason in January 2004. He was a member of Sikeston Lodge No. 310, Sikeston, Missouri.His passion for golf was life long. In his early years, the weekends were for golf. In his retirement, any day was for golf. He wasn't known for his putting but he had the nickname of Mr. Consistent – right down the middle of the fairway. He was proud to have made a hole-in-one during his lifetime.Danny is survived by daughters, Pat Cartmell, and Danna Cantrell and her husband, Claudie; grandchildren, Chad Carmell and Leasha Pollock, and her husband, Corey; great-grandchildren, Hadlea Faye Pollock and Logan Pollock; brother, Charles Heacox and wife, Peggy of Iowa Park, Texas; sister-in-law Mary Baker Clark and husband, Webster of Olathe, Kansas; and numerous nieces and nephews.Daddy, your memory will be cherished as you are leaving a huge void in our lives.
