Nathan Ryan Spencer, 41, passed away suddenly on January 13, 2025, at his home in Midland, Texas, with his devoted wife by his side. Born on August 2, 1983, in Chickasha, Oklahoma, Nathan lived a full life of love, generosity, and adventure. Nathan spent his early childhood in Cement, Oklahoma, before moving to Texas in 1991, much of which was spent in Midland, the place he proudly called home. A graduate of Midland High School’s Class of 2002, Nathan went on to build a career in the oil and gas industry, where he worked in various roles before co-founding Crooked Horn Services in 2018 with his friend and business partner, Jeff Thomason.
In 2004, Nathan met the love of his life, Latisha Novak Spencer, and they married in March 2012. Together they shared 20 wonderful years and were blessed with two incredible boys. Fisher Byron and Easton Ryan, who were the light of Nathan’s life. Nathan was a hard worker and a passionate outdoorsman. An avid hunter and World Champion Coyote Caller, Nathan was known far and wide as a “varmint demolition specialist.” His love for the outdoors, talent, and selflessness inspired countless friends and fellow hunters.
Of all the roles that Nathan had over the years that of Dad was his favorite. Nathan is survived by his loving wife, Latisha Novak Spencer, and their children, Fisher and Easton. He is also survived by his father, Clyde Spencer, of Odessa; his mother, Janet Spencer Dudley, and husband, Richard Dudley, of Cement, Oklahoma; his sister, Sara Spencer Kinoti (Dennis), along with their children, London and Grant Kinoti, of Cedar Park as well as step-sister, Kendra Adkins, and her children, Brooklyn and Kenzlyn Farrill, of Odessa; his aunt, Donna Spencer Self, of Eakley, Oklahoma; and a cousin, Tonya Spencer, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Nathan’s extended family includes his mother-in-law, Phyllis Novak, of Midland; his sister-in-law, Tonya McNeely (Kevin) of McKinney; and his sister-in-law, Lawana Grissam (Chuck) of Midland. He will also be remembered by his many other aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Nathan was reunited in death with his paternal grandparents Byron and Betty (Settle) Spencer; maternal grandparents William H. & Enid (Dumas) Hand.
A visitation will be held 4:00pm-6:00pm, Sunday, January 19, 2025 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home in Midland. The funeral service will take place at 10:00am, Monday, January 20, 2025 at the Branch @ npw.
