She was the author of “Spur Marks” and was a member of the following organizations: the Housing Authority Board in Stanton; was a honorary member of the State Future Homemakers of America; the Hall of Fame of the National Bit, Spur and Saddle Collector Association; the Retired Teachers Association; the Mary Jane Club; and the Beta Sigma Phi. She was also a member of Vincent Baptist Church and former member of First Baptist Church in Stanton.Survivors include her husband, Wayne Mitchell of Coahoma; two daughters, Natalie Trampe and husband, Michael of Sheridan, Wyoming, and Valerie Smith and husband, Jim of Stanton; five grandchildren, Micah Trampe, Nathan Trampe, Matai Trampe, Savanah Tunnell and husband, Josh and Sean Smith; and three great-grandchildren, Melanie Tunnell, Caleb Tunnell and Brailynn Colegrove.She was preceded in death by her parents, Nathan and Velma McMinn; and a brother, Nat McMinn.The family suggests memorials to the Wayne and Natha Mitchell Scholarship Fund, % Brad Holland with Stanton ISD or a favorite charity.Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home and Crematory.
