Nancy Lee Wood, 80, of Big Spring, passed away Wednesday, August 11, 2021. Memorial services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, August 14, 2021 at the 14th and Main Church of Christ with Jon Smith officiating.
The family will receive friends Saturday following the memorial service at the church.
She was born October 20, 1940 in Stanton, Texas and married Jimmie Wood November 7, 1959.
Nancy was a lifelong resident of Colorado City and Big Spring. She was a homemaker, an avid bowler and a loving mother and Nana and loved taking care of her family. She was an active member of the 14th and Main Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband, Jimmie Wood; two daughters, Shelley Choate and husband, Mark, and Stacey Palmer and husband, Clarence all of Big Spring; one brother, Larry Hamner and wife, Nancy of Waxahachie; nine grandchildren, Jason Choate and wife, Melanie of Abilene, Kristin Keefer and husband, Jesse of Dennison, Caleb Choate and wife, Brynne of Palestine, Brett Griffin and wife, Brittney of Hobbs, NM, Erin Defay and husband Cal of Sneads Ferry, NC, Brionna Sandridge and husband, Skylier of Big Spring, Faith Parum of College Station, Kylie Palmer of Lamesa, and Aubrey Parum of Big Spring; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Allene Hardegree Hamner.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jason Choate, Caleb Choate, Jesse Keefer, Brett Griffin, Skylier Sandridge and Cal Defay.
The family suggests memorials to the Alzheimer’s Association.
