Nancy Gill passed away July 28, 2014. She was born April 28, 1923 in Fort Worth, Texas and grew up in the Fort Worth and Dallas area, graduating from Adamson High School in Dallas.Nancy attended the University of Texas where she met a football player named Audrey Lee Gill. After the attack on Pearl Harbor, Audrey joined the Air Force. Nancy married him in Denver prior to his deployment as a pilot during WWII. They settled in Midland after the war, where Nancy became a wonderful mother of three boys and one girl. She worked as a substitute teacher and school secretary, was active in PTA, hospital auxiliary and a docent at the Petroleum Museum. She was president of the RHCC Women’s Golf Association and played golf into her 80’s. She was active in First Christian Church.Nancy loved to travel and enjoyed a variety of cultures and places, from China to Egypt, to Australia, and points in between.She was preceded in death by her husband Audrey and her son Byron. She is survived by her sons and their families; Hal and Cindy Gill of Blackwell, Texas; Robert and Annie Gill of Blackwell, Texas; her daughter Linda and John Hicks of Midland.The family gratefully appreciates the loving care of the Legacy Ranch staff during her time there.A memorial service will be held on July 31, 2014 at 1:00pm in the sanctuary at First Christian Church, 1301 W.
