Nancy Flaten

Nancy Flaten, 76, of Midland, passed away Sunday, May 10, 2009, at the Hospice Inpatient Unit at Midland Memorial Hospital. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 am, Monday, May 18, 2009 at Grace Presbyterian Church in Midland with Rev. Cheryl Homsher, officiating.Nancy was born February 13, 1933 in Highland Park, Illinois to Frances and Stanley Antes. She graduated from Cornell College in Iowa. She has lived in the Midland community since 1973. She was a 25-year member of the Santa Rita Club. Through the years she also performed volunteer work with Meals on Wheels and the Museum of the Southwest. Nancy was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church in Midland. Survivors include sons, Steven Flaten of Covington, Louisiana and Douglas Flaten and wife Stephanie of Edmond, Oklahoma; daughter, Diane Utsman and husband John of Midland; granddaughters, Rose Flaten of Abilene, Rachel Flaten and Becca Flaten of Edmond, Oklahoma and Laurel Utsman of Midland; grandsons, Ryan Flaten of Edmond, Oklahoma and John Utsman of Midland; brother, Roger Antes and wife Shirley of Lake Forest, Illinois; many nieces, nephews and cousins.She was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley Antes and Frances Borchardt.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Midland, PO Box 2621, Midland, TX 79702, Grace Presbyterian Church, 2801 N Garfield ST, Midland, TX 79705 or American Cancer Society, 2304 W Wadley, Midland, TX 79705.Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland.
