Myrtle Jones, 88, of Stanton, died on Sunday, June 20, 2004, in a Big Spring hospital. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 AM Tuesday, June 22, 2004 at the Evergreen Chapel at Evergreen Cemetery in Stanton with Rev. Dennis Teeters, pastor of First Baptist Church in Big Spring, officiating. She was born on July 16, 1915, in Gordon, Texas.Mrs. Jones was a long time resident of Martin County and was a waitress at the Belvue Cafe for many years. She enjoyed playing 42 and joining her Senior Citizen friends at the Dairy Queen for hamburgers. She also enjoyed listening to the Old Sorehead Band. Survivors include her son, James Jones of Big Spring; her daughter, Jo Ann Cagle of Big Spring; her sister, Faye Graves of Stanton; 5 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Laverne Reagan and Jewel Grissom. The family suggests memorials be made to, Alzheimer's Association, Greater West Texas Chapter, 4400 N. Big Spring St., Midland, Texas 79705. The family will receive friends on Monday, June 21, 2004 from 7PM to 8 PM at the funeral home.Arrangements under the direction of Gilbreath Funeral Home of Stanton.
