Myrt R. Norwood Tindol, dearly loved by her family and friends, departed this world Thursday, January 16, 2014. She was born in Pear Valley, Texas October 25, 1931 to Della and William Norwood. The family moved to Big Spring, Texas when Myrt was in high school. She married R. D. \Doc\ Tindol March 28, 1952. She earned her Bachelor's Degree from Angelo State University and her Master's Degree from Sul Ross State University and taught at Coahoma Junior High for many years.Myrt was known for her vibrant personality and love of games. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and sister and will be missed by all who knew her.Myrt is survived by her husband, R. D. \Doc\ Tindol; one daughter, Karen Goeke and husband, Tony; two sons, Dr. Neal Tindol and Dr. Rogan Tindol and wife, Lisa; three grandchildren, Greg Goeke and wife, Heather, Kimberly Blaine and husband, Chris and William Tindol; a great-granddaughter, Piper Goeke; three sisters, Nell Thames, Mattie Norwood and Mary Palmer and husband, John; one brother, James Norwood and wife, Margie; sisters-in-law, Sandy Norwood, Sue Tindol and Betty Jane Tindol; many nieces and nephews; and special friends, Nita and Lonnie Wright and Billie Christie.She was preceded in death by her parents, Della and William Norwood; a sister and brother-in-law, Vivian and Gilbert Grantham; a brother, Martin \Bud\ Norwood; and a brother-in-law, Henry Thames.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, January 18, 2014 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Rev. Mark Lindsey, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.The family will receive friends from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM Friday, January 17, 2014 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.The family suggests memorials to the Alzheimer's Association, Greater West Texas Chapter, 4400 N.
