Morris Leo Crittenden, 73, of Big Spring, died on Sunday, May 13, 2007, at the Home Hospice House of Odessa. Graveside funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, May 18, 2007 at the Trinity Memorial Park Peace Chapel with Rev. George Crittenden, officiating.The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM.He was born on July 16, 1923, in Clarksville, Texas. Morris was married to Johnnie Marie Howie for 35 years and she preceded him in death on February 28, 1983. He then married Martha Nixon on May 11, 1984 in Lamesa.Morris served in the United States Army during World War II. He had farmed and ranched in Glasscock County for many years, retiring in 1995. He was a Baptist.Survivors include his wife, Martha Crittenden of Big Spring; one son and daughter-in-law, Eddie Bruce and Cherry Crittenden of Tulsa, Oklahoma; one daughter and son-in-law, Lana and Rickey Smith of Athens; two step daughters and their spouses, Ann and Terry Kessler of Sand Springs, and Susan and David Dickens of Austin; three brothers, George Crittenden of Denver City, James Crittenden of Roswell, New Mexico, and Don Crittenden of Big Spring; three sisters, Inez Grant Shivers of Big Spring, Dorothy Gay of Smithville, Georgia, and Alma Shafer of Vincent; ten grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters. The family suggests memorials be made to the Home Hospice House, 903 N.
