Mr. Morris Lanier Bassham, 84 of Midland, passed away on Wednesday, November 9, 2016. The family will be accepting guests at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home from 4:00pm-6:00pm on Sunday, November 13, 2016. Walter Thompson officiating.Morris was born on June 1, 1932 in Colorado City, Texas to Lanier Vestal Bassham and Ethel Mae Morris. Morris graduated from Midland High School. He attended Texas Tech University and graduated from Sul Ross University in Alpine, Texas. Morris was a draftsman and started his career with Sinclair Oil, now Arco, in Midland, Texas. He retired in 1985. He volunteered for many years with the Commemorative Air Force in the museum and with the Petroleum museum.He is survived by his wife, Pitricia “Pitsy” Dianne Bassham; son, Mark Bassham and wife, Donna; son, Derek Bassham; daughter, Kim Smith and husband, Sammy; son, James Moseley; and his six grandchildren, Misty Bassham, Lindsey Bassham, Jason Armstrong, Adam Armstrong, Sean Bassham, and Kathryn Smith.He is preceded in death by his parents, Lanier Vestal Bassham and Ethel Mae Bassham.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, www.stjude.org, and Midland Memorial Hospital, www.midland-memorial.com. ,
