Monte Jo Prude, 77, of Midland, passed away on Friday, March 11, 2005, at the Hospice of Midland Inpatient Unit at Midland Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 14, 2005 at the Fairmont Park Church of Christ with Scott Sheppard, and Don Mitchell, officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park in Midland. The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 13, 2005 from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home and Crematory, 3800 N. Big Spring St.Monte was born on March 30, 1927, in Quanah, Texas to Robert and Virginia (Ray) Kelley. She met Bill Prude while attending Abilene Christian College and they married on November 20, 1948 in Abilene. They moved to Midland that year. To that union was born four wonderful sons, the delights of her life. One of her favorite activities was baking pecan pies for the men at Fairmont Park Church of Christ on their birthdays. She has baked more than 1700 pies in the last 15 years and is affectionally known as "the pie lady." She enjoyed playing bridge at the Senior Service facility on Illinois St. and visiting with friends. She was a member of Fairmont Park Church of Christ. Monte was a volunteer with the jail ministry at church. She also volunteered with VIP Senior Services.Survivors include her husband, Bill Prude of Midland; four sons and daughters-in-law, Randy and Miriam Prude of Midland; Jeff and Cheryl Prude of Bakersfield, CA; Tim and Patti Prude of Midland;and Kelley and Sue Prude of Bentonville, Arkansas; one sister, Nancy Behrends of Flowermound, TX; two brothers & sisters-in-law, Charles and Helen Kelley of Plano, and Roy and Joanna Kelley of Pensacola, Florida; and nine grandchildren, Micah and wife, Melissa, Prude; Marissa Prude; Sharon Prude Williams and her husband Karson; Will Prude, and Amanda Prude; Tyler Prude, Matthew Prude, Ashton Prude, and Bailey Prude. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, V.W. Kelley of San Angelo,and a sister,Virginia Estes, of Amarillo.Pallbearers will be a family friend, Mark Elliott and grandsons, Micah Prude, Will Prude, Tyler Prude, Matthew Prude, and Karson Williams.It is suggested by the family that anyone who would wish to send a memorial gift send it to Boles Childrens Home, 7065 Love, Quinlan, TX 75474 www.boleschildrenshome.org or Hospice of Midland, P.O.
