Mike Speck, 54, of Big Spring, passed away Wednesday, August 23, 2023 in Lubbock.  The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm, Sunday, August 27, 2023 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.

He was born January 17, 1969 in Ft. Worth, Texas.  He was a lifetime resident of Big Spring. His love was spending time with his family, watching his daughter play softball and all kinds of music.  He had the ability to play any instrument that he picked up.  He also loved anything with wheels, especially motorcycles.  He had worked for the prison system for over 20 years before establishing his own business in the oilfield.

He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Lori Speck; his children: Casy Speck, Colton Speck, Parker Speck and K’Dynce Speck, all of Big Spring; his step-son: Brantley Cahoon and wife Krystal of Midland and one brother-in-law, Kevin Park of Pflugerville; his granddaughter Journey Speck; one brother Kendal Speck and wife Debra; and one sister Kay Dozier. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father Stanley Speck and his in-laws Roger and Linda Park; two brothers: James and Ray Speck and one sister Sissy and one grandson Rowen Speck.

I met Michael when he was 16 years old in Benton, Arkansas. It was a church singing and he was playing a bass guitar. I fell in love with those beautiful blue eyes and his love of music. We dated till he moved to Texas, never to see one another again. My heart was broken for many years, wondering about him and his life. Thru Facebook we reconnected and was able to talk, catch up. I married one of his best friends here in Arkansas, and will always say God put Mike there in my life so that my path would cross with Kelley.
