Minnye Mays Cranfill, 92, of Coahoma, died on Wednesday, October 20, 2004, at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, October 23, 2004 at the Coahoma Church of Christ with Russell Mullins, minister, officiating, and Don Allen, assisting. Interment will follow at Coahoma Cemetery.Born on July 11, 1912, in Jack County, Texas, she was one of ten children of Luther and Annie Sullivan Mays. She moved with her family to Howard County in 1920 from Jack County. Minnye married C. A. Cranfill on April 12, 1930 in Lovington, New Mexico and he preceded her in death on July 11, 1995.Minnye helped write the History of Howard County 1882 – 1982. She was a longtime member of the Coahoma Church of Christ and taught the Ladies Bible Class for many years.Survivors include her daughter, Wanda Bristo of Coahoma; her grandson, Wayne Bristo of Big Spring; her granddaughter, Luanne and her husband, Clifford McCartney of Coahoma; four great granddaughters, Jennifer Henderson, Kelli McAdams, Sheree Bristo and Latisha McCartney and two great great grandchildren.
