Minnie Elizabeth Jones, at the age of 95 years old and a resident of Reagan County Care Center in Big Lake, Texas, passed away on December 19, 2014 at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa, Texas. She was born on June 22, 1919 outside of Carrizozo in Lincoln County, New Mexico to David Shuford Masters and Mary Lee Corn Masters.She lived a very well-rounded life. Once leaving the plains of New Mexico, she moved to West Texas surrounded by the oilfield camps that sprang up during the early oil boom. During World War II, she worked in the shipyards in Concord, California, later running several cafes and bars with ease. She ultimately obtained her cosmetology license and became an instructor in Visalia, California. After having lived in Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, California and Arizona, she moved to Big Lake to care for her little sister.From April 25, 1966, she was married to Robert G. “Buck” Jones until his passing on February 2, 1991. She was a member of the United Church of God. She was a caregiver to her family and friends. She will be dearly missed by many.She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, one brother, E. S. Masters and two sisters, Sarah Annie Armstrong and Saxon Virginia Hickman. Survivors include R. C. Masters of Hereford, Arizona, David Mack Hickman, Johnny Frank Hickman, Gina Lou Brooks of Midland, Texas; stepsons Bob, Jr., Terry, Michael and Dale Jones all of California, and numerous great-nieces and nephews, cousins and friends, especially her church family across the United States.Graveside services will be held at 2:30 on December 22, 2014 at the Fairview Cemetery in Bronte, Texas. Pallbearers will be David Hickman, Johnny Hickman, H. L. Brooks, Casey Fitzgerald and Jakob Hickman. The family would like to thank the staff of Reagan County Hospital and Care Center in Big Lake for their caring of Minnie these past few years. We ask that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Reagan County Care Center Activities Fund, 805 North Main, Big Lake, Texas 76932, Hospice of San Angelo, Inc., P. O.
