Millie St. John Henson, 95, of Las Cruces, New Mexico, formerly of Stanton, died on Saturday, May 16, 2009, in a nursing home in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Graveside funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, May 21, 2009 at the Evergreen Cemetery Chapel in Stanton, Texas with Kendall Tomlinson minister of Downtown Church of Christ, officiating. She was born on December 1, 1913 in Taylor County, Texas to George and Millie Pollock. The family moved to Martin County in the Lenorah Community in 1925. She moved to Las Cruces, New Mexico in 1983 and was a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include two sons, Kenneth Henson of Las Cruses, New Mexico and Jimmy Henson and wife, Janet of Stanton; six grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and seven great great grandchildren. A great-grandson preceded her in death, PFC Clayton Henson, who was killed in action in Iraq in 2004. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to a charity of choice or to the Clayton Henson Memorial Fund % Permian Basin Area Foundation, 550 W.
