Mildred Vaughn, 96, of Big Spring, died Tuesday, December 10, 2013 in a Mansfield, Texas nursing home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, December 14, 2013 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Rev. Ken McIntosh, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.Mildred was born October 5, 1917 in Stamford, Texas and married Doyle Vaughn September 15, 1934 in Midland. He preceded her in death April 12, 2005. She moved to Big Spring as a child. She and Doyle owned and operated Vaughn's Bakery from 1937 until 1973 when they retired. She was a member of First Christian Church, a longtime volunteer at Scenic Mountain Medical Center and a member of Pythian Sisters.She is survived by one son, Butch Vaughn and wife, Carolyn of Mansfield; one daughter, Beverly Kay of San Antonio; four grandchildren, Paula Kay and John Paul Kay both of San Antonio and Lisa Vaughn Englett and husband, David and Kelley Vaughn Doby and husband, Bill all of Mansfield and four great grandchildren, Kevin \Tye\ Vaughn, Brandon Englett, Austin Doby and Ethan Doby.In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, H.E. and Frankie Ruth (Parr) Tynes and six sisters.Arrangements under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring.
