Mildred (Didgie) Rogers, 102, of Midland passed away, Wednesday, February 20, 2019 surrounded by her family. Memorial service will be 11:00am, Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home Chapel.Mildred was born January 21, 1917 in Greenville, South Carolina to Bessie and Thomas Drew. Didgie’s passion for flowers and gardening began at an early age as she would help her grandmother and friends on their gardens. She shared this love freely with her family and friends. She was an accomplished seamstress; she knit and crocheted avidly, bestowing us all with her beautiful handiwork. As a teenager, Didgie would return home from an evening with friends to be enticed into joining her father and his friends card games. She then became quite the card player with bridge and black jack being her favorites. Another one of her adored pastimes was ANTIQUING. She always found the best bargains – if you ever accompanied her, you had to be prepared to stay the course until her objectives were met. This went for shopping trips too. (especially nurseries!)She is preceded in death by her husband, Archer S. Rogers, Jr.; parents, Thomas Eugene and Bessie W. Drew; brothers, Eugene Drew, Sylvester (Tootsie) Drew, Cauthen Drew, and Thomas Drew; sisters, Dorothy (Drew) King, and Alice (Drew) Meyer. She is survived by children, Debra (Rogers) Amick, Sandra (Rogers) Langenbach, Archer S. Rogers III, Francis Drew Rogers; sisters in law, Mary Anne Drew and Betty Drew, 8 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Salem United Methodist Church, c/o Mayme Marvin Carter, 7099 Hendersonville Hwy, Walterboro, SC 29488.Oh God of grace and glory, we remember before you this day our sister, Mildred. We thank you for giving her to us, her family and friends, to know and to love as a companion on our earthly pilgrimage. In your boundless compassion, console us who mourn. Give us faith to see in death the gate of eternal life, so that in quiet confidence we may continue our course on earth, until, by your call, we are reunited with those who gave gone before; through Jesus Christ our Lord. AMEN.Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland. Online condolences may be made at www.npwelch.com.,
