Mildred Jannie Copeland

A private family graveside funeral service will be held for Mildred Jannie Copeland, 86, of Stanton. She died on Saturday, July 22, 2000, at her residence. She was born on May 31, 1914 in Jones County, Texas and married Hubbard DickCopeland in Glenrose, Texas. He preceded her in death in 1965. Mrs. Copeland was raised in Meridian. She lived in Midland for twenty years where she was a nurse for Dr. Courtney and Dr. Boone. She moved to Stanton in 1986 to live with her daughter Joyce. Mrs. Copeland loved quilting. She was a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include a daughter, Ada Joyce Bergstrom of Stanton; a sister, Emily Sikes of Tahoka; a brother, Joe Davis of Meridian; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a son Truman H. Copeland on January 15, 2000. Arrangements under the direction of Gilbreath Funeral Home.,
