Mike McDaniel, 53, of Big Spring, died on Tuesday, September 9, 2008, in a Midland hospital. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, September 13, 2008 at the Trinity Memorial Park Peace Chapel with Chaplain Walter McCall of Compass Hospice, officiating, and Rev. Pat Ray, pastor of Prairie View Baptist Church, assisting.He was born on May 22, 1955, in Big Spring, Texas and married Margaret Newton on August 23, 2003 in Hobbs, New Mexico.Mike had worked for the Morgan Ranch for twenty-two years and most recently worked in Colorado for Patterson Drilling. Mike loved his family, friends and horses. He was a Baptist and had served in the United States Air Force.Survivors include his wife, Margaret Newton of Big Spring; two daughters, Alesha Pace of Big Spring and Jo Nell Phifer of Oklahoma; two step daughters, Lani Mow and Tracy Barnett; one sister and brother-in-law, Debbie and Alan Householder of Big Spring; and several grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, R. C. "Nummy" and Jo Nell Tindol McDaniel; and one sister, Pamela June McDaniel.
