Miguel Sanchez Maskill Jr, 34 of Midland, Tx passed away on Saturday, February 6, 2024. Mikey was born on January 29, 1990, to Elma and Miguel Maskill Sr. in Houston, TX. Growing up in Ozona, Texas, Mikey went to Ozona High School where he played football for the Lions. After graduation, he joined the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged. Soon after he went on to college to learn computer coding/programming. He then joined West Texas’ best oil field industry as an Operator II in Wireline.
Mikey spent his time reading, cooking, playing video games, hanging out with friends, karaoke, the outdoors, spending time with family and was a wonderful Godfather to his niece. His laugh was infectious and unforgettable with the biggest heart God could bless him with, always putting others before himself.
In 2014, Mikey met Kayla Barnett and had one son, his mini-me. He loved and was very proud of his son. They would go on “driving” lessons together, build Lego cars and collect RC/hot wheels. Mikey enjoyed spending time with his son, sharing the same love for the color red, and loud/fast cars. His son plays football and likes video games, amongst other things similar to his father.
Mikey is survived by his son, Myles James Maskill; his mother and father Elma and Miguel S. Maskill Sr. of Ozona, TX; one sister, Stephanie Maskill of San Antonio, TX; two brothers, Stephen Maskill of Midland, TX, and Samuel Maskill of Ozona, TX; plus, many nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family would like to express their gratitude to all the Family, Friends, and Coworkers that have reached out.
Arrangements for cremation are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland, TX, with Celebration of Life Memorial to take place in Ozona, TX on February 24, 2024.
