Michael (Mike) Wayne Tiller (74) of Midland, Texas went into the loving arms of Jesus on Saturday, August 1, 2026 and is now worshiping at his Heavenly Father’s feet. He will be laid to rest surrounded by family and close friends in a private ceremony.
Michael was born on August 23, 1951, in Riverside, California to Hap and Charlotte Tiller. He was a military “brat” that lived in many locations, including Morrocco. As a young man, his most favorite adventures were being a member of the Civil Air Patrol and Search, Rescue, Survival Missions. He loved to fish (even wondered if he could fish in Heaven?). Mike learned to fly before he got his driver’s license. Soaring in gliders was one of his favorites. He also loved to pan for gold (the thrill of the hunt was the real treasure). Mike had an uncanny passion for Meteorology, it seemed he could read the skies, like most read a book. Mike served in the United States Air Force, then made his way to work in the “oilfield” until retirement.
Mike is survived by his wife, Brenda, children Holly, Natalie, Rachel, Anna and Aaron, and their spouses. Also, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren who lovingly referred to him as their POP.
He is preceded in death by his grandson Weston.
