Michael Thomas Larson, 20, of Midland, passed away on Friday, September 21, 2018. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 from 6:30-8:30PM at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home in Midland. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at 2:00PM at First Baptist Chapel with Dr. Darin Wood officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.Michael graced the lives of Tom and Susan Larson on June 13th, 1998 in Midland, TX. Michael was a beloved son, grandson, nephew and cousin and blessed the lives of all those around him. He attended Midland Christian School for 10 years where his Christian knowledge grew and his faith in God matured. He graduated from Lee High School in 2016. He was active in the Cub Scouts, making wonderful friends, and played the “Turkey Boy” in the Midland Community Theater production of A Christmas Carol. He was also an avid reader and writer, receiving Honorable Mention in the Hilda Simmons Levitt Poetry Contest 2017 for his poem “Lifted.” He loved music, especially his vinyl collection, and played the violin and the guitar. Michael attended University of Texas San Antonio and Midland College. Most recently, he summer interned at GHD Services, Inc., as he prepared for a career in geology. Like his father, Michael was a dedicated, all-consuming fan of the Chicago Blackhawks and the Chicago Cubs. For the past 6 consecutive years they made their annual pilgrimage to Wrigley Field and other Midwest ballparks taking in the baseball games and the food. He savored hot chicken wings, Italian beef sandwiches and anything you could put hot sauce on. He often came home with a smile and goodies & lattes in hand for his Mother. Early in life Michael professed his faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord and on July 30th, 2017 was baptized and received into membership of the First Baptist Church, Midland, Texas. He was devoted to his family, especially his grandparents. He loved the parties at his Papa and Ganny’s house in Midland and the card-playing of his Grandmother & Grandfather in Illinois. He loved his family, his friends and his pets (Goldie, Bumbles and Luna the Lizard) and the company of others. He was a kind and gentle soul with a loving spirit and heart. He made us laugh, filled us with love and was generous beyond measure. He made our world a better place, we love him infinitely and we will miss him until eternity.Michael is survived by his parents Tom and Susan Larson of Midland; grandmother, Mrs. Wayne (Macie) Loyd of Midland; grandparents, Ken and Patty Larson of Savoy, Illinois; aunts and uncles, Cindy and David Theis (Pampa, TX); Greg and Donna Larson (Midland); Tina and Dave Becker (Maryville, Tennessee); Julie Larson (Midland); cousins & spouses, Kyle and Sam Larson (Midland); Kacey and Blake Broadway (Midland); Haley and Tyler Ashley (Dallas, TX); Adam and Shawn Theis (Las Vegas, NV).He is preceded in death by grandfather, M. Wayne Loyd.Pallbearers will be Greg Larson, Kyle Larson, Blake Broadway, Tyler Ashley, Gage Cotton, J.B.
