Michael Robert Newsom

Michael Robert Newsom, 66, of Midland, passed away unexpectedly on Nov 11, 2024.  Mike was born on October 27, 1958 in Big Spring, Texas to Bobby Ray and Donna Newsom.  Services to remember his life will be at Fellowship Community Church in Midland, Friday, November 22, at 2 PM, officiated by Rev. Wade Cobb.

Mike graduated from Big Spring High School in 1977.  He enjoyed softball, fishing, (especially at Lake Amistad at the family camp), and golf (yearly tournaments with his buddies Skeet and Doug).  He was especially talented at making everyone laugh as he was notoriously quick witted.  Mike worked in a variety of different capacities from a mudlogger in the Oil and Gas industry to a home inspector.

Mike is survived by one son, Dustin Scott of Andrews Texas, his mother, Donna Newsom of Midland, a sister, Robin Wilson (Tom) of Midland, and a brother, David Newsom (Katerine) also of Midland.  Being from a large extended family, he is also survived by aunts, uncles, many cousins, nieces and nephews that are too many to list.  He is preceded in death by his father, Bobby Ray Newsom, maternal grandparents, Foster and Frances Shirley of Big Spring, and paternal grandparents, Robert and Evelyn Newsom of Big Spring.
