Mama...I used to think you were so uncool when I was a teenager, thought you were too happy all the time. But after a few years, I began to recognize all the really cool things about you...and how much I share with you. You LOVE science, hunting rocks-arrowheads-treasures-artifacts. Anywhere we go, you can bet our eyes are on the ground. And the beauty of birds...the stars...insects...geology... You always told me that when I was feeling down-to SING. You knew how healing it was. You always told me to 'have a happy day jsennie-ree'. Well, Mama, please give Meemaw and Joe and all my grandparents a big lipstick kiss for me...and Ill see ya when I see ya.Kisses,Jennie-ree

Beautiful and kind Merrie. Your passing has been hard to accept because my memories of our friendship is full of youth and all the fun we had. I understand you were suffering and I know your faith, family and friends help to sustain you. You are free from pain and now dwell in the house of The Lord. May The Lord comfort your family and give them strength each day. Psalms 23. Suzy Hagar, PHS '71

We were blessed with our McCormick family cousins and spent many a summer vacation together singing and being really silly. Merrie had a beautiful voice, a beautiful heart and the best laugh ever. In fact all the McCormick kids inherited their mom's contagious laugh Pain free and reunited with her mother and brother Joe I can easily imagine them making music - and laughing. May God bless the McCormick family who are and always were so special to our family.
