Merce Yanez, 84, of Big Spring, died on Thursday, June 25, 2009, at her residence. A Rosary service will be held at 8:30 PM at the Nalley-Pickle and Welch Rosewood Chapel on Friday, June 26, 2009. Funeral Mass will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, June 27, 2009 at the St. Thomas Catholic Church in Big Spring with Father Ariel Langunilla, officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olive Memorial Park, Big Spring.Merce was born on September 8, 1924, in Shafter, Texas and married Ynez Yanez, Jr. on September 17, 1945 in Big Spring. He preceded her in death on 1990.She came to Big Spring as a teenager with her family from Shafter. She was a homemaker and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.Survivors include three sons, Sonny and wife Vicky Yanez of Irving, Arthur and wife Iris Ann Yanez of Big Spring, and Roland Yanez also of Big Spring; three daughters, Sulema and husband Randy Murray of Denton, Viloa and husband Gilbert Barraza of Big Spring, Adelinda and husband Russell Ille of Lubbock; four grandsons, Richland Catlin of Lubbock, Aven Michael Yanez, Arthur Paul Yanez both of San Antonio, and Blake Adams of Dallas; five granddaughters, Laura and husband Larry Collins of Carrolton, Pam and husband Tracy Martinez of Lubbock, Ashley Crossman of Plano, Heather Murray of Palestine, and Chezlea Yanez; four great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild, Jaylin Tyler Barraza of Big Spring; three sisters, Chila Vasquez of Oceanside, California, Lucy Garcia of Oxnard, California, and Eva Mourea of Santa Paula, California. Merce was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and two sisters.,
