Melinda Brantley, 27, of Big Spring, died on Monday, November 11, 2002, in a Monahans hospital. Funeral services will be at 4:00 PM Friday, November 15, 2002, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Rev. R. T. Havener, pastor of First Assembly of God Church, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park. She was born on January 29, 1975 in Colorado City, Texas. Melinda participated in Special Olympics, where she enjoyed bowling and track and field. She was a special young lady who enjoyed shopping and participating in her church's activities. She was a member of First Assembly of God Church and was a volunteer at the VA Hospital in Big Spring. Survivors include her mother, Eva Lewis of Big Spring; her uncles, Eddie Dawson of Loraine and Bruce Melvin McKinney of Sweetwater and a number of cousins.Melinda was preceded in death by her grandparents, Shorty Goodson and Anna Jo McKinney. The family will be at 2614 Dow. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
