Melba Jo “Jody” Brock, 76 of Midland passed away at her home on July 26, 2014. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2014, 3:00 PM at Nalley-Pickle and Welch Funeral Home Chapel with Jimmy Martin officiating.Jody was born on December 23, 1937 in Colorado City, Texas to Henry and Gladys Browne. She was raised on a cotton farm in Colorado City with three brothers, Ivan, O’Neil and Jerry. She attended Colorado City High School where she played basketball and volleyball. She was an avid bowler and a youth coach for a number of years. She was very proud of the fact that she bowled over 30 years in the TWBA State Bowling Tournament.Jody married Tom Sanders in 1955 and followed him in the Navy before returning to Texas in the early 60’s. They moved to Fort Stockton in 1967. In 1970 she opened her grooming business “Our Shoppe.” She entered the bookkeeping business in 1978. After the death of her first husband, Tom, she retired in 1993.In 1994 she married Jay Brock who has been the love of her life for 20 years. They cruised the world, having seen Alaska three times, Panama Canal, Canada and the New England States, Russia, China, South Korea and North Korea, Hawaii twice and the Caribbean. Her and Jay loved to build projects together. They made all of their children a beautiful piece of wood furniture that will be treasured forever.Jody was known for her kind and giving heart, she never meet a stranger and made friends for life. She loved her family unconditionally and was the rock that kept them stable.She is survived by her loving husband of 20 years, Jay Brock; daughters, Sandy Bradley and husband David, Tonnie Milligan and husband Brad; step-daughters, Lauri Smith and husband Jack, Melani Terrill and husband Mike, and Cheri Brock; step-son, Paul Brock and wife Carla, brother, Jerry Browne. She had nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren along with her extended family and numerous friends.Melba is preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Gladys Browne; Tom Sanders, her husband of 37 years and brothers, Ivan Browne and O’Neil Browne.In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice Midland, PO Box 2621, Midland, TX, 79702.Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland.,
